Our Story
Kali Rokya Ouattara, an African native with a passion for working with children through art, founded the Chigata Art Institute. Working as the Assistant Artistic Director with Afriky Lolo in America (Saint Louis, Missouri), Kali Rokya Ouattara brought years of experience and a profound vision to this non-profit organization. The Chigata Art Institute stands as a beacon of creativity and compassion for children worldwide, with a particular focus on nurturing the talents of neurodivergent children, including those with autism or hearing impairments.
The institute, under the leadership of Kali Rokya Ouattara and a team of dedicated artists, educators, and therapists, has developed a curriculum that not only hones artistic skills but also fosters a sense of belonging and self-worth among neurodivergent children. Every instructor at Chigata is more than just a teacher; they serve as mentors, understanding the unique needs and abilities of each child. The founder's commitment to inclusivity led to the expansion of the institute's reach beyond borders, offering art programs and resources to ensure that their knowledge and artistic techniques can benefit neurodivergent children globally.
Chigata Art Institute has become a hub for exchanging ideas and best practices in art education for neurodivergent individuals, collaborating with educators, therapists, and artists worldwide. The impact of their efforts resonates far and wide, as families witness not only artistic growth but also increased confidence and communication skills in their neurodivergent children. Through their dedication and passion, the Chigata Art Institute is not just sharing art but also planting seeds of hope, empathy, and understanding in the hearts of communities touched by neurodiversity.
